so its been exactly a month since i posted. that's a little pathetic. i've been gnawing on a hefty entree of "graduating from college" and contemplating it's accompanying side dishes, "homelessness" and "unemployment." actually the employment outlook is much less bleak than it was a few short weeks ago. more details after these messages. errr, after the first week of january. i'm graduating in two days....sunday december 10th at 10am. college graduation seems to pass with far less fanfare than its high school counterpart...aka my mailbox does not fill up daily with checks from relatives i've never even heard of...but it still seems so much more important and meaningful. well, that and we're going to my favorite restaurant of all time for brunch after the ceremony. east side cafe. good stuff.
lets see, other major developments over the last month...ummmmm. i went fishing with courtney's dad and a couple of his friends from the fire department in the middle of november. we hit up port o'connor and did a couple days of bay fishing and then one day about 45-ish miles offshore. fishing was a little slow since a big windy front blew through just before we got to town...water was pretty murky in the bay....or "turbid" if you want to sound smart, nerdy, or both. still, we caught a few between the two of us...a couple redfish and trout in the bay, a big redfish outside the mouth of the jetties, and then four limits of red snapper, a shark, and ton of triggerfish offshore. it wouldn't set any records but that big redfish by the jetty was definitely MY biggest fish to date. it was about 39 inches long and maybe 35-ish pounds? anyways, i had a lot of fun fishing and hanging out with mr. skains. i got home and told courtney i was gonna go to work for the port o'connor newspaper so we could live there. she just gave me the look. for all you single guys out there, the look is the same look you got from your mom when you were about 7 years old and you were trying to sneak a cookie out of the glass cookie jar on the kitchen counter without her noticing while she's cooking dinner...and then right before you get the lid off you feel two holes being scorched into the side of your head by her eyes. it's that look...on steroids.
well kids, i've got laundry to do and a room to clean so i'm out......like donald rumsfeld, john bolton, and disco.
